  • Old Hong Kong Kai Tak Airport

Hong Kong Kai Tak International Airport, located in Kai Tak, Kowloon District, Kowloon, was opened on January 25, 1925, and has been in operation for 73 years. Closed at approximately 1:20 am on July 6 1998. At 6:27 am on the same day, Chek Lap Kok Airport was completed and took over the name of "Hong Kong International Airport". When Kai Tak Airport was in operation, it was one of the busiest international airports in the world, with the third-largest passenger volume and the most significant cargo volume in the world. High-density buildings surrounded it, and the airspace was narrow. During its operation, Kai Tak Airport once had the "Top Ten Dangerous Risks in the World" In consideration of safety and demand. The Hong Kong government announced in 1989 to build a new airport at Chek Lap Kok in the northwest of Lantau Island.
I took this photo on the streets of Kowloon City one month before the reunification in 1997. Kowloon City is a bustling area in Hong Kong. People living in this community were on the streets between the buildings every day, close up, Watching the passing of large passenger planes. The sound of passing large passenger planes is a daily feature of Kowloon City.

  • Mount Fuji Lake Kawaguchi Blue

I took this photo on December 31, 2017, at 4:42 pm, just after sunset. It was the first time I saw Mount Fuji by Lake Kawaguchi. The surroundings were very peaceful, you didn't even hear any insects, maybe because the weather was too cold. When I was looking at Mount Fuji, I felt calm and comfortable, and the scenery was magical.

  • 高校前駅 鎌倉 Kamakurakōkōmae Station

I came to visit this place with my wife in December 2017, Shichirihama (しちりがはま) one of the 100 best beaches in Japan. I have seen the most beautiful sunset spots here. It feels like entering an animation world with beautiful light and oil painting-like scenery.
The picture I took is a classic scene from the famous Japanese anime "SLAM DUNK": the moment when the train passes by the "Kamakura High School Mae" station.

  • Sakura,Kozen-ji Garden

    Sakura,Kozen-ji Garden

In the spring of 2017, my wife and I came to this park. It was the first time in Japan to see such beautiful cherry blossoms. The whole park was full of pink cherry blossoms. It was a magical experience.

Japan's No.1 cherry blossom, "Takato Joshi Park", is covered with clouds of cherry blossoms.

Takato Joshi Park is located in Ina City, Japan.Nagano Prefecture. In Takato Castle, Nobumori Nishina, the fifth son of Shingen Takeda, fought Nobutada Oda and died tremendously. "Takato Sakura" is a synonym for this place and is so famous that the Takato clan transplanted the cherry blossoms of riding ground to the castle to manage the Takato castle ruins that had remained rough in 1873.

The lovely pink "Takato Kohiganzakura" forest is a precious cherry blossom that has become a natural treasure of Nagano Prefecture. It is said that the blood of Nobumori Nishina at the Battle of Takato Castle increased the redness of Takato Kohiganzakura planted in the castle.

Photo Journal: "35 years in Shek O " ( December 2020 )

The locals learned about surfing and listened to rock music that was popular in the west, while foreigners fell in love with the "silk stocking milk tea" and "Luncheon meat fried eggs Noodle soup". This is an unforgettable image in the mind of ManChingKC, a photographer born and bred In Shek O.

Since getting the first fully mechanical camera at the age of 16, the alternative world and unreality presented by black and white photography after processing the rolls of film have fascinated him ever since. He was holding the camera and walked all over the place, overlooking the entire coast.

Later he moved away for work. He went back and left again. Every time he left and came back, his attachment grew stronger. He still misses the unique smell of the Shek O air.
His favourite place is Shek O Beach. When he was a child, he would spend the night on a camp bed. When he was in middle school, he would wear tight pants, bring a record player, and turn up the volume. When he became an adult, he would drink until late at night with a friend. " Whenever you want to escape from reality, just come back to Shek O Beach."

ManChingKC, born and bred in Shek O, started his photography career when he was 16 years old. He started his photography career as a photojournalist and later became a fashion magazine photographer.

Good at portrait photography, as well as black and white photography and street photography. Last year, he self-funded and published 'Shek O, Magical Place', a photographic collection of Shek O, documenting Shek O’s appearance from 1985 to the present.
