The Monster Building is a group of five connected buildings in 2-32 Yau Man St., Quarry Bay, Hong Kong. Coordinates It is a famous location for photography and has been used as inspiration for several filming locations. The architecture is similar to Tai On Building. There are 2,243 units in five blocks with 18 floors in height. Ten thousand people currently live in this complex.
The housing estate was initially built in the 1960s, named Baakgaa Sancyun and later sold. In 1972, the housing block was split into five: the Fook Cheong Building, the Montane Mansion, the Oceanic Mansion, the Yick Cheong Building, and the Yick Fat Building. There are shops on the street front. The highest building is the Oceanic Mansion, with 18 floors. Due to it being a composite building, it is dense. It is challenging to have it demolished and rebuilt.
The location is popular with tourists, so much so that locals have placed warning signs that ask visitors to be respectful. The structure inspired locations in films like Transformers. I took this photo in 2021 August
Our framed canvas is a 38mm stretched canvas within a traditional picture frame. The simple addition of a wooden picture frame creates a completely new form of wall art, quite distinct to a standard canvas. The thin frame sits approximately 5mm from the edge of the canvas helping create a floating border. Highly recommended for photography and images that make a real statement.
